I just recently came across Isabella Rossellini‘s Sundance Channel series of online short films Seduce Me and Green Porno (2008-10) about the mating habits of marine animals and insects, combining elements of documentary and animation. The ones I’ve seen so far (on praying mantises, salmon, cuttlefish, starfish, anglerfish, and fireflies, among others) are playful, strange, informative and fun, and some of them (especially the ones on sea creatures such as squid, shrimp, anchovies, and elephant seals) have a conservationist message.

The latest season of Seduce Me – which premieres on Sundance Channel next Monday, 22 November – features, according to yesterday’s article on vanityfair.com, deer, seahorses, spiders, and gay and/or transsexual passengers of Noah’s Ark!
